6 Things That Men Need To Learn Before Getting Into a Relationship
While no one is ever completely ready go get into a relationship,
it’s always best to be as prepared as possible. A relationship is always
a learning process wherein the people involved grow and learn with each
other as they go along. However, there are things that you can prepare
for to make the experience relatively smooth and trouble-free. It helps
if both people going into the relationship are mature and experienced
individuals who know what it takes to make a relationship work. These
people know that relationships are difficult and they aren’t necessarily
walks in the park.
So what do you do if you’re not as experienced as others? Don’t
worry. We’ve highlighted some things for you to learn before you start
getting serious with someone. Here are the 6 things that you need to
develop before getting into a relationship:
1. Develop your own sense of self-awareness.
Before you start trying to find love, always try to have a developed
sense of self-awareness. You always have to know when you’re being
charismatic and cool; also when you’re being dorky and arrogant. You
have to learn how to read a room and what people think of you. You have
to note that how you see yourself is almost never going to be what other
people will see you too. You have to be able to balance being yourself
and being the person that people want you to be. Be more aware of your
words, actions, and body language, and you’ll find it easier for people
to get people to like you.
2. Analyze the mathematics involved in your hunt for love.
It may seem a little counter-intuitive to be using mathematics in
your pursuit of love and passion. But don’t worry, you’re not being
asked to do Calculus here. You just need to have a basic understanding
of probability and statistics if you want to find success in your
relationships. Play the field to your favor and you won’t be
disappointed. If you’re more of an artistic person, then you’re probably
going to find someone more suited to your liking at art classes or
museums. If you’re into athletics, start hitting the gym and scout for
potential mates over there. You have to play the game to stay in the
game.
3. Learn and grow from your shortcomings.
None of us are born perfect; nor will any of us reach perfection
within our lifetimes. We’re all inherent screw-ups and that is okay.
What is important is how we all learn to rebound from our failures. We
should all be capable of learning from our shortcomings and growing from
our faults. We all have our insecurities and our moments of mediocrity,
but that’s okay. We should just be humble and honest enough to
recognize our own faults, and develop the willingness to learn from
them. Once we do learn that valuable principle, then that means we are
in a constant state of self-improvement during the course of our lives.
4. Become a better social butterfly.
Learn how to be more charismatic and more attractive to other. You
should have a developed sense of style and fashion. Start taking better
care of yourself. Get regular haircuts and grooming sessions. Get your
butt to the gym and start getting in better shape. Practice your
conversational skills and begin working on your charm. You have to be
sociable and amiable if you ever want to get someone to fall in love
with you. Don’t be afraid to go on nights out with friends. Don’t shy
away from social interaction. Start immersing yourself in the social
spotlight and get comfortable with it.
5. Expose yourself to more culture and knowledge to become a more refined and interesting person.
An interesting man is always going to be a more attractive man. Start
exposing yourself to many different kinds of interests, and you’ll find
yourself being easier to talk to than most people. Start fostering an
interest in a musical instrument, in art, in literature, or science.
Chances are that knowledge in these various fields offer you an extra
card that you can use to woo other people. You never know where
knowledge in thermodynamics can come into play. You might end up trying
to woo an engineer one of these days. It’s always best to be prepared.
Worst case scenario, you’ve got a bunch of useless knowledge stored up
that you can impress your friends with.
6. Start learning to be more patient.
Stop rushing yourself into anything. Don’t be so desperate in your
pursuit of love and just play things cool. Let things take their natural
course, and don’t get bogged down by society’s pressures and
expectations. Love should come naturally and you don’t ever have to
force things. Be calculated in your approach to love and don’t succumb
to any impulsive urges. You don’t want to have any regrets in the end.
